SPRING 2- 2023
Here is a taste of what we will be studying this half-term:
Maths:
We embarked on a new Maths sheme last term. The children have really enjoyed it and have made excellent progress, so we will be continuing this term. We will be continuing with work on multiplication and division, moving on to decimals, fractions and length and perimeter. Year 5 will also learn about percentages and statistics.
This term we will increase our practise of times tables and I will be setting it as an important part of our homework.
English:
Our new text is "The Lost Book of Adventure", compiled by Teddy Keen. This beautifully illustrated book will guide us towards writing our own survival manual and survival narrative.
History/Geography
After a quick look at the way the settlers populated North America, we will move to geography. We will be learning about the environments, climate, population, industry and farming in North Alerica.
PE:
A reminder that Year 4 will be swimming on Monday afternoons, this term. Year 5 will have a PE lesson on Monday afternoons, so please remember your kit. Our other PE lesson will be on Thursday afternoons. This term we will be taught by a cricket coach.
Science:
This term we are learning about the science of sound.
