Coronavirus / COVID-9 Updates

Due to the outbreak of coronavirus, schools have been closed to the majority of children since Monday 23rd March. A small group of pupils have been attending each day, including during the school holidays, made up of the children of keyworkers and those who may be classed as vulnerable.

Routine OFSTED inspections have been suspended, and exams are not taking place this summer, including Year 6 SATs.

A national voucher scheme is currently in place for pupils who are entitled to an income-related free school meal. Please use the following contact details to apply if you think that your child will be entitled to a meal

Following the advice of Cheshire East Council and the Directors of Public Health for Cheshire and Merseyside, we will begin to open for the wider school community from 15th June. The following year groups will be admitted and I have communicated the arrangements for this directly with parents:

Monday 15th June - Reception

Monday 22nd June - Year 1

Monday 29th June - Year 6

These dates are all conditional a reduction in the rate of infections and deaths from COVID-19.

Pupils in Years 2, 3, 4 and 5, who are NOT the children of keyworkers, will not be returning to school before the summer holidays.

I have attached the risk assessments that the school has carried out regarding reopening and strongly urge parents to read these to familiarise yourselves with the new procedures and policy amendments that will be in place to accommodate more pupils.

If your child has any worries about how coronavirus might impact on their life, there are some excellent video clips on Newsround here and in the resources below and attached to this page.
