Children's Mental Health Week 2022

Lesson: PSHE and citizenship

February brought with it Children’s Mental Health Week, and the theme this year was ‘Growing Together’. We were delighted that our Mental Health Champions were able to work with Mrs Davies, our Mental Health Lead and Learning Mentor, to plan and deliver a range of activities with each class.

From teaching our Reception children about managing worries by turning them into bubbles and blowing them away, to teaching Class 4 strategies for calming and regulating their emotions and feelings, the Champions worked with a different class every day to support and develop techniques for, and raise awareness of the importance of good mental health.

Class 2 enjoyed a workout in the hall, as they learned about the importance of physical activity in managing stress and negative feelings, and Class 3 focused on growing good friendships in the same way that they would care for and nurture a flower.

Thanks to our Mental Health Champions who made the week such an enjoyable and informative experience for everyone.
